7pm Saturday

A full house and a stacked line up of Monster Jam Trucks set the stage for an incredible event here in Oakland, as tonight we took yet another step on the Road to the Monster Jam World Finals 15. The action kicked off with an announcement that Titan had just qualified to complete in the main show next month.

The Monster Jam Racing bracket was set with the times from qualifying. NEA was the first to bring the fans to their feet with a dramatic rollover in the first round. In Round 2, Digger came up with a big win but a problem with his power steering meant he would not return. In the Semis, Balhan went up on two tires in the final turn but refused to let off the gas. George knew the minute he did, he’d lose the race. He rode it out with rolling over, but the momentum took him right off the track. Todd and Donald made it the final race with clean, fast trips around the Chicago Style track. They ran dead-even going into the final turn, with Mulisha getting the edge approaching the final race ramp. Todd got lined up quicker, stomped on the gas and flew past the checkered flag for the victory.

Tonight’s Monster Jam Fox Sports 1 Freestyle Competition led off with a surprise for the Oakland Monster Jam Fans. A special, bonus appearance by Ironman (Dustin Brown) included high flying action, a couple of miraculous saves, and the total destruction of the entire body of the truck. The incredible score put Dustin in the Hot Seat for quite some time. El Diablo was unable to compete after flipping in the “South of the Border Challenge” earlier tonight. JP launched straight into the air and, as if in perfect slow motion, rotated effortlessly and pan caked directly onto his – actually, onto the face of El Diablo. It drew one of the loudest reactions from the fans that we’ve heard all year. Mohawk had a great run going until his tires hooked up and rolled him prior to Bonus time. One of the most incredible things you ever see took place mid-way through Leduc’s fast paced run. As he flew over a jump at high speed, his rear tires scraped the top of the ramp and catapulted him into a front flip. His momentum and speed forced him into a full ‘360’ prior to landing. The replay was just as exciting the 10th time, as it was the first time we saw it. Todd was unable to continue, missing out on the Bonus points. As incredible as Titan was tonight in racing, he had an even more spectacular performance planned to close out the night. Donald easily put up the biggest air of the night, multiple times. Charlie did everything tonight – the huge air, the dramatic ‘saves’, and high-speed non-stop cross threading of the track. What set his run a part of the competition was the fact that, toward the end, he did it all while dragging half of his broken rear axle around the track.
