Friday Night

Roanoke, Virginia was recovering from a winter snow storm as Monster Jam arrived at the Roanoke Civic Center, but that didn’t stop the hoards of Monster Jam Fans from packing the stands! The show this evening, was one of the many fine examples of why Monster Jam Shows are “as BIG as it gets!”

We started the evening off with our Monster Jam Wheelie competition. The excitement of the fans was almost as instant as the mashing of the gas on our first Monster Jam Truck, as they stood and roared for Stephen Sims and Hooked, a local favorite being from across the state in Virginia Beach, Va. The seventeen points he would put on the board would not keep the lead for long as Monster Energy would tie him, and Monster Energy would surpass him with eighteen points. In the end however it was Becky McDonough and El Toro Loco who would win with an impressive high-flying wheelie, and 24 points to take the trophy!

The fans continued to get louder, and the competition tighter as we moved on to our Monster Jam Racing Round One. Eight of the best Monster Jam Trucks fired it up and pulled to the start line. The trucks raced side by side in Monster Jam straight line racing for tonight’s show. As race after race passed by and competitors were eliminated one by one, until only two were left. Damon Bradshaw and Monster Energy and Frank Kreml and Cleatus would race in the Monster Jam Championship Race on the road to Monster Jam World Finals 15! Unfortunately Monster Energy would have transmission issues at the start of the race, and cripple him on top of the stack of crush cars. Frank Kreml would cross the finish line first and take the racing win.

We wrapped up the show with our Monster Jam Fox Sports 1 Freestyle. Another close scoring competition, much the same as wheelies earlier in the night would ensue as Gunslinger would take an early lead with 21, but only to be outdone by Hot Wheels Firestorm and Cleatus with 22, and the winner once again Becky McDonough and El Toro Loco! She won the competition with 23 points to take home her second trophy of the night.

We kicked off the competition for the afternoon with our Monster Jam Wheelie competition. The competition was tight with only points separating the Monster Jam Trucks! That remained the case until Damon Bradshaw would drive the black and green Monster Energy Machine high into the air, and surpassing the field with 19 points to win the Monster Jam Freestyle.

Next up was our Monster Jam Racing. The local hometown favorite Bad News Travels Fast went all the way to the Monster Jam Championship race, where he would face off with Damon Bradshaw and the Monster Energy Machine. The Monster Energy Monster Jam Truck would just edge out the Virginian and take the win in Monster Jam Racing this afternoon.

We ended the show this afternoon with an excellent Monster Jam Fox Sports 1 Freestyle. Each driver tried to kill it for the cheering fans, who stayed on the edge of their seats for the whole performance. Some high flying action

Saturday Night

The night in Roanoke ended with a bang as the Monster Jam Drivers showed the fans why Monster Jam is “as BIG as it gets!” Each of the drivers competed fiercely all weekend, and they continued the competitive spirit on a Virginia Saturday night!

The show started once again in Roanoke with the Monster Jam Wheelie Competition. Less that five points separated the winner from the lowest scoring Monster Jam Truck! Stephen Sims and Hooked started the competition off with an impressive 21. He would keep the lead all the way through the competition, as Monster Jam Driver after driver tried to knock him out of the hot seat. No one would be able to do it however, and Hooked would take his first trophy of the weekend home with him.

We continued with the competition with our Monster Jam Racing! Round one was closer than ever! The weekend saw some close races for sure, but the races tonight were tight to say the least! Hot Wheels Firestorm would advance to the Monster Jam Championship Race to take on Monster Energy. Hot Wheels Firestorm was victorious by inches, and would take home his first trophy of the weekend as well.

The evening ended with a destructive Monster Jam Fox Sports 1 Freestyle. All the drivers were charged up as the Monster Jam Fans yelled and screamed through the whole round. An extremely close competition would develop as the end of the Monster Jam Freestyle as each driver tried to outscore the other. Monster Energy put up 21 points, followed by El Toro Loco with 23, and Fox Sports 1 Cleatus would score 22. The yellow El Toro Loco bull driven by Becky McDonough would take the trophy tonight, with her 23 points winning the competition.
